Leh is the second largest district in the country with an area of 45, 100 square kilometers. It is at an altitude of 3524 meters. The district is constrained by Pakistan occupying Kashmir in the west and Ghanche district, China in the north. Aksai Chin and Tibet are to the east, Kargil district to the west and Lahul and Spiti of Himachal Pradesh to the south.

DELHI - AMRITSAR (Train)

Morning visit India Gate and Presidential Palace. We will approach the House – Museum of Gandhi to better understand the history. In the afternoon we go into the alleys of Old Delhi with its theme bazaars and its timeless atmosphere reminiscent of the seventeenth century the city. In the area, there is the possibility to visit the Jama Masjid and Red Fort, India’s capital emblematic monuments. Then we go to the station to catch the train to Amritsar. Overnight at hotel.

AMRITSAR

We will be full to contact this exciting city day. The visit to the Golden Temple Day is mandatory and allow us to enter the heart of Amritsar, the Harmandir Sahib. You have to do a little tail, very well organized. The standard offering is a sweet semolina and syrup which is then returned to the faithful at the output of the temple. AMRITSAR - DHARAMSHALA

The road to the enclave of Dharamshala, atop the Himalayas, take us through landscapes of mid-mountain slopes planted with paddy and women dressed in a thousand colors that work in the fields. Dharamshala became a famous enclave when the Government of India granted refuge to the Dalai Lama. Everything in the city and its surroundings have Tibetan reminiscences and, therefore, the traveler will contact this community and Buddhism as anywhere else outside Tibet. We stay in the village of McLeod Ganj, at the foot of the Dauladar. Overnight at hotel.

DHARAMSHALA

McLeod Ganj is a crossroads that will allow us to make pleasant walks. From the village, a short walk leads to the Temple of the Dalai Lama, his official residence. The faithful flock to the temple and encircle as a form of meditation and prayer. Many other monasteries allow us to find a place of peace. Tibetan monks and nuns always shown great kindness to those interested in their religion and culture. We may also stroll to Bhagsu Waterfall in a beautiful spot. Overnight at hotel. * Recommendation: Attend dialectic exercises that take place in the evenings in the Temple of the Dalai Lama. The young monks are engaged in discussions on topics of study with a peculiar form of debate.

DHARAMSHALA - MANALI

Day road between spectacular scenery. At stops en route, can appreciate the beauty of the Himalayan valleys that separate Dharamshala and Manali. Manali is one of the most famous locations in the Indian Himalayas. You can enjoy its natural spaces and temples. Old Manali allow us to make a relaxed stroll and delve back into the world of bazaars and traditional goods, while enjoying the wide range of cuisine and entertainment. We can approach Dhungri to know Hadimba Temple, one local deity, which is over 400 years old. Overnight at hotel.

MANALI - SARCHU

The peaks that dominate Manali Iran being closer as we approach Sarchu. Pass by Keylong, the administrative center of the mountainous area. The journey to Ladakh involves crossing ports highest mountain in the world, as the Baralacha to 4880 meters. A few kilometers you can enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Surajtal. Night in tents.

SARCHU - LEH

The arrival in Ladakh reveals a new type of landscape. The rock dominates everything and all vegetation throng the banks of rivers with crystal shades. The main valley is formed by the Indus river which rises in these mountains to continue their way to Pakistan. The color is the water is indescribable. Once entered into Ladakh, the traveler is aware of cultural change. The architecture, food, costumes are different. Leh is a small town at the foot of the fortress, dominated by the Peace Stupa and the snow-capped most of the year. Overnight at hotel.

LEH

Spend the day exploring around Leh. The monastery of Hemis and Thiksey where we know the way of life of these communities of monks devoted to the study. At last we can also join the morning prayer of the monks and share with them the recitation of mantras. It is a moment of great solemnity. The Buddhist monasteries of Ladakh hide great jewels of Buddhist art and its location, perched on the hills, is a spectacle in itself. Back to Leh where we will have the afternoon free to wander. LEH - LAMAYURU - LEH

Today embark on a spectacular journey towards Lamayuru Gompa, on the road that goes towards Kashmir. This monastery is in the Ladakhi cultural frontier and simply route worth it for the uniqueness of its landscapes. On the way back, stop at Alchi, another important religious center. The monastery built in the eleventh century wall paintings are unmatched in the valley. At Leh, we will have some time to board the Royal Palace. Overnight at hotel.

LEH - DELHI (Flight)

After breakfast, we head to the airport for flight to Delhi. The nation’s capital will welcome us with the urban pace. We can devote the afternoon to visit one of the most interesting areas of the city: Hauz Khas Village. For some years, this isolated nucleus has concentrated activity of artists, designers and bohemians and gastronomic and cultural offer is unique. In addition, the streets surrounding a beautiful park with ruins of Tuglukh dynasty. Overnight at hotel.

DELHI - CITY TOUR - EVENING TRANSFER TO AIRPORT

Those who wish may spend the morning visiting the south of the city. The Lotus Temple amazing the Baha’i religion is an excellent choice.
