We will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the selected hotel. Overnight at hotel.

KATHMANDU

Full day to discover the heritage of Kathmandu. From the Durbar Square, an amazing combination of royal and spiritual monuments, we will take a walking tour around the old city. Enjoy the hidden courtyards full of small temples and shrines and their relaxed way of life. Don`t miss the Kumari House, the home of the Nepali living goddess. If you are lucky, you could see her waving. In the afternoon, visit the Pashupatinath, one of the most holy Shiva temples for Hindus. Nepali usually get cremated behind the temple on the shore of river Baghmati. Overnight at hotel.

KATHMANDU

It`s time to visit the surroundings of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Dhulikhel and take a small trek to see the Himalayas range from the distance. Soon you will be crossing the highest peaks into the amazing Tibet. In the evening, you can try something really local, in Nepali Chulo, one of the most famous restaurants in the city that portrays the historical cuisine of the valley. Overnight at hotel.

KATHMANDU

In one day, you should visit the nearby royal cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. In those cities you will find the Durbar Square, less crowded and even better preserved than in the capital. In the evening don`t miss the Lazimpat area with some nice restaurants and some interesting organic and fair trade shops. Overnight at hotel.

KATHMANDU - KODARI - ZHANGMU

ZHANGMU - XEGAR

Surrounding the Mount Everest, we will reach Xegar, on the base of the highest peak in the world. We are entering the real Tibet with a clear change in the architecture and landscape. The hanging towns and the gompas will start to unveil the unique Tibetan culture. Overnight at hotel.

XEGAR - XIGATSE

Xigatse has one of the most impressive castles, a model for the Potala. The actual structure is a reconstruction, since the Tibetan under Chinese occupation dismantled the 17th Century fortress. The city is also the seat of Panchem Lama and home of one of the most important monasteries in Tibet, Tashilhunpo, surrounded by the typical skyline of the plateau. Overnight at hotel.

XIGATSE - GYANTSE

Gyantse used to be the third city in Tibet. With 8000 inhabitants, this city at almost 4000 meters high hosts the Kumbum, the biggest chorten in Tibet, inside the Palcho Monastery. The ruins of the impressive Dzong, a 14th Century fort, still reign over the fertile plains of Nyang Chu valley. Overnight at hotel.

GYANTSE - LHASA

Our last stage will drive us to Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. Get mesmerized by the last kilometers of the route in the middle of the unique landscapes of the Tibetan plateau and the small villages with hanging gompas on the road. Overnight at hotel.

LHASA

Once a lost city in the middle of nowhere, Lhasa is nowadays linked with China by the new railway. The Tibetan capital has changed a lot in the last decades, but the impressive Potala still seems over control. We will devote the day to visit the Dalai Lama Palace, UNESCO World Heritage. We will take advantage of the evening to soak into the changing urban life of Lhasa. Overnight at hotel.

LHASA

Let`s make the most of the day visiting the Norbulinka Palace and the main Universities of Gelukpa Tibetan Buddhism. Sera and Drepung where monasteries and important centres of knowledge for the Tibetan culture and still keep its prestige, although the recent changes in Tibet also brought the Western universities to the city. Overnight at hotel.

LHASA - KATHMANDU ( FLY )

We will fly back to Nepal. Enjoy your last free evening in the streets of Thamel or visit the more quiet Lazimpat area for your last shopping, for a nice massage or a last dinner in some traditional or fancy restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
